We are a Tatter Jackets and wooden staves Border Morris
“Any Gender” mixed Side.
We practice most Mondays at the Spread Eagle in Lymm WA13 0AG
, starting about 8:15pm with a pint in the upstairs function room.
In the past, Bollin have practiced in the Methodist hall on Eagle Brow
and the Church hall near the library.
We can always accommodate guests who would like to “come and try it”.
We do Public performances, often in company with one or more other morris sides
mostly in the Summer
so If you want to Investigate further ;-) give us a try!
, contact: Bollin ‘Squire’ Bob
or ‘Secretary’ Vanessa on the
“USEFUL LINKS”
page to be sure we are there on the night you want to come.
It’s great fun — have a go with no commitment!
Bollin started sometime in the mid 1970's, and was a revival of the original
Altrincham side, one member of which was still around at this time.
-- I must go round to Fred's (Bollin Historian) some time to sort this out!
As far as I know, none of the current members are original, though some date from
the early 1980's.
The more recent history is illustrated in the PHOTO GALLERY tab with the
occasional 'blast from the past'. A picture tells >= 1000 words - enuff said!
Questions like 'where did the morris come from?' invite replies like "Altrincham"
or rambling dissertations about pre-Roman tin mining/King Arthur/Glastonbury thorns/
William Kemp and other things like that. The more Beer you buy us, the longer
this will go on :)
I'm not sure meself WHY morris sides are , but it SEEMS sort of sensible, so that
will do I guess..
